Daniel made the experience of purchasing my no longer working Mac (water damage) incredibly easy. He was quick and professional.

So helpful and saved my data from a failing hard drive (best buy had told me it couldn't be saved)! Kept me updated as the process went on and gave a very fair and reasonable price. Thank you!

Came to Keane with a 2015 Mac Pro with a failed drive, rare malfunction with very little chance of data recovery. The service was excellent, despite the low odds, they persisted in the recovery process and exhausted all options and luckily one of them worked! A long shot turned into a miracle. I know it was part luck, but also a lot of skill and most importantly, determination. Communication was excellent, price was more than fair. Highly recommend this place!

Daniel at Keene Mac Repair was very helpful, prompt and professional. We went to him for data recovery services on a MacBook Pro. His rates are competitive and he took time to explain the whole process and consult with us on our options. When the job turned out to be a little more straight-forward than expected he offered us a discount on the quoted rate. Thank you, Daniel, I'm happy to recommend your services to anyone needing data recovery or mac repair.

Replies promptly to initial inquiry. I was able to drop off machine quickly and get it picked up two day later. Very clear and rapid communication by email about state of machine. Described options and pros/cons. No pressure to spend on unnecessary services. Completely fixed the problem (screen shorting out and kernel panic from water spill) at reasonable price. Very professional. Highly recommended.

I had a very old laptop that didn't have a battery and for a while could only be powered by it's cord. Finally that stopped working too. I needed the data off the hard drive and a library CD out of the disc drive. I took it to Keane Mac Repair and got everything I needed out of the laptop and it was super quick. I highly recommend!

I had spilled some tea on my MacBook pro 2019 16 and was concerned about keys on the keyboard that were sticking, so I arranged an appointment with this establishment and brought my precious laptop with me. Daniel was great. He could have easily sold me a bill of goods, taken my laptop, done some lackluster effort to diagnose/clean it, handed it back to me, and charged me $150. Instead, Daniel was very honest about the situation: he inspected the computer, and concluded that, based on the model of my computer, the difficulty in removing the keys for my particular model, and the fact that he did not have replacement keys on hand for it, instead of potentially breaking a key(s) and having me go on a goose chase to hunt down some replacement keys on my own, he recommended that I try to get some AppleCare for the MacBook and have Apple take a look at it. the cost for that would not be cheap, but the outcome would be far more desirable.

I appreciate that kind of honesty. To me, it showed a real professionalism on Daniel's part. I am sure that he is a gifted technician, times are tough, I am sure he could have used the business, but he stood by his principles and guided me down a path that would have a potentially far better outcome for me, the customer. My hat is off to Daniel, that kind of professionalism and commitment is rare these days.

As someone who works in the tech industry myself, I appreciate the character of someone like Daniel and based on what I got from our interaction, I am leaving this very positive review for him.

I never write reviews unless something is very very good or very very bad. My 2013 imac needed an SSD drive to work decently. I found Keane mac repair on yelp. He was close to my home. I chose him. He did a great job and quickly.48 hour turn around. The mac works great. All data and programs migrated without a problems. Lets keep him in business!

Daniel is great. I broke my screen and contemplated buying a new computer, but found Keane Mac Repair. I had a new screen within one day. They also did a little tune up and recommended a new battery (which I suspected needed replacing). Great job!

Had a 2011 MacBook that was running so slow, so took it to Keane. They diagnosed the problem, offered solutions with varying costs, and then fixed the problem. My MacBook is so much better! Definitely would highly recommend!

They refused at home service to a person with disabilities and on a tight budget, especially after telling them that I had already purchased a replacement hard drive, that I had already removed the glass panel, the torx screws, and unplugged the vertical sync ribbon cable to make their job easier and to try to save money. Well, apparently $140 for the replacement of the hdd (ONLY) was NOT enough for them, despite the fact that more than 50% of the job was already done by me. Thankfully SF is a big city so I have already found other 2 technicians that will replace my hdd for much less than $140. Do yourself a favor and don't do business with this company, and in general with any company that offers overpriced services with no flexibility.

What an easy process. Smooth scheduling and nice guy. I would have paid less at the Mac Store probably for the audit of the machine but I am actually not 100% sure since I think the store would charge $150 if you don't have a warranty/ Apple Care. The space is small but who cares. He has you in and out so fast you don't have to wait around for much! Great find~

The best in Mac Repair, I have been going here for over 7 years and always top notch. Thank you Keane! Daniel is very helpful, quick, and quite the bass player too. I am almost looking forward to having problems with my Mac, that's how good this place is. Thanks again, if I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I am customer here many years with various apple computers. Recently the owner Daniel moved his Apple preferred provider business from midtown office location to the Avenues (7th and Balboa). I brought him 2 Apples and he diagnosed a very very slow 2014 MB Pro laptop and gave me choice of what to do including something he says I can do (reinstall the operating system).

The other one is 2006 MB pro from the UK here he found failing hard drive and I am writing this from the 2006 and it has new mechanical drive and all the data is here and clean. He is the Best!

Needed to upgrade my IPhone 6 to the 7; but TMobile won't take my trade in because of a small crack. Found these guys on Google and saw their reviews. Called; came in an hour later, phone fixed 30 minutes later. Thanks guys.

You know when your Mac just stops working, up pops a flashing? folder on your screen and you have no idea what the heck is going on?! Well, except for the fact that you need it, like right now?! Yeah, so not fun. A friend of mine referred me to Daniel of Keane Mac Repair, so I reached out and he told me he'd be happy to take a look at it right away.

Not only did he fix the problem but I had it back in my hands up and runnin' later that same night! Thank you so much Daniel! -- Keane Mac Repair to the rescue! I'd say I'll definitely be back but hopefully I won't have to be anytime soon! :

Spilled a glass of ice water on my MacBook Pro. It died a horrible death. I panicked. Googled Mac repair in Sf and Keane came up. Daniel was patient and matter of fact. He was able to save my files from the hard drive. The Mac was toast, however. Daniel sold me a refurbished Mac Book Pro, same year and model as my dead one. He loaded the files on it.

When I turned it on, the computer fired right up and opened to the page I was viewing when the accident happened. Freaky. All of this took 24 hours, and I was back in business. Thank God for Keane Mac Repair! Recommended! PS Important: Daniel's refurbished Mac also came with a power cord and my data was backed up on an external hard drive. Daniel showed me how to back up my files every day. Good idea!

I've been coming to the Keane for at least the last ten years. These are the folks that The Genius Bar tells you to go to when your ish is out of warranty. I recently cracked the screen of my MacBook air. Took it into Keane on a Friday and had it back on a Monday. Something wasn't right and they fixed it for free. If you can't afford a new Mac, go to these guys. Also for Data Recovery. Keane will hook you up.

Kinda keen for Keane Mac Repair. My MacBook Pro hard drive went kaput when I was in San Francisco. Although I had a repair plan through a retailer in SoCal, I was told I had to send in the MacBook for repair -- 3 weeks turnaround time minimum. I found this place via another review site other than Google reviews. Within a week, I had my Mac Book Pro hard drive replaced (around $205) and data recovered from my old drive in its entirety ($500).

Not keen about the price (expensive), but the Apple Store nearby would have been a 3 week+ wait and this was definitely a quicker option.Located on Market near the Cable Car turnstile at Market and Powell St.PS: A computer savvy friend later let me know what I paid was very pricey, hence the 3 stars.

Daniel is great. Simply, I was back home for a couple days - when I went to open my Macbook, the flashing folder with the question mark was doing it's thing. After a couple attempts to reboot in safe mode etc. I realized something more sinister is afoot. I googled the best Mac repair nearby and Keane's showed up. Long story short, he made a good assumption but charged a reasonable fee for a diagnostic.

I didn't even freak out because I could tell he knew what he was talking about. Next day, the computer was fixed in less than 24 hours, new cable, new E key (thanks!) and he cleaned it inside and out. I am SO happy. He even gave me a couple recommendations since this computer will be replaced shortly. Thank you, Daniel! You were fast, efficient and accommodated my tight deadline! I will definitely come back and recommend you to my friends up there. Cheers!

Keane deserves more than 5 stars. I brought in my old Mac (I think it was from 2008?) that stopped working a few years ago due to me spilling liquid on it. I dutifully brought it to the Apple Store and although they were quite friendly in the end they couldn't repair it and recommended I visit Keane. Well, shortly thereafter I had my 2nd baby and had no time until nearly 2 years later.

Last week I realized I really needed my data urgently so I was a walk in to Keane and explained what happened to the laptop. He didn't seem at all concerned he couldn't recover the data. He was fast and efficient, He also listed the possible scenarios including the differences in prices and informed me he would request approval via email if he needed to go the more costly route. 5 hours later I got an email that the data was recovered at the less expensive price point! To all the other negative reviews, looks like he's taken the feedback to heart and has made some changes because my experience was only positive. Highly recommended.

The only thing stopping 12 ounces of spilled apple juice from cascading to the floor was, unfortunately, my relatively new Macbook. Needless to say, given the cost of resulting repair, it was toast. But data! Data! Data! Data! Space cadet me hadn't back up jack! Apple wouldn't touch it, but Daniel not only would, he did, and got everything back--with email check ins along the way, mitigating my worst fears along the way. I'm not a technical person, and obviously the emotional value of my data was my greatest concern--and this was retrieved smoothly, without impersonal backroom tech-talk, vulnerability of who had my stuff, and a kind, cool human helping me out. I can't recommend Keane enough.

I went in to get an estimate on a water damaged MacBook pro. He took a look at and made some solid, honest recommendations designed to save me money. I appreciate any business that takes into account the customer's best interest and any future problems I will contact them before Apple

I can't speak to their repairs, because I've never brought anything to them. I did, however, call to see if they repair iPads as my business is looking for a new shop. This message is for Daniel. I called earlier about fixing iPad screens and you went on to lecture me about how they cannot be repaired, how they can only be replaced, etc.

I did hang up and I'm sorry if you find that rude and felt the need to call me back and leave a message and tell me that was rude. I found your lecturing tone and attitude rude as well and didn't want to waste more of my time. I simply asked if you had a referral after you said that your company did not do screen repairs for iPads. I didn't ask for a lecture.

One of the things I've noticed over my 18 years in the IT business is that many techs simply love talking about their knowledge and don't know when to stop, you fall into that category. I also am a certified Apple tech and I am aware of the calibration facts, etc. I'm also aware that I've been having screens replaced, with little to no issues, for years. I'm just looking for a local shop that will do it, instead of shipping them off. Learn when to stop talking and just say "Sorry, we don't provide that service and I don't know of anyone local who does".

These guys are amazing! So originally my laptop would do this annoying thing where it would freeze and a gray screen with a flashing question mark file would come up. Then when I took it to the apple store the guys at the Genius Bar told me I had liquid damage in my 2012 MacBook Pro and Apple Care does not cover that. So their solution would be to ship it somewhere else and replace three parts for $800. That's ridiculous.

I might as well go buy an 11 inch MacBook Air for $999. Then they recommended me to Keane where they were super friendly and detailed when describing the process they were going to take to see what's wrong with my laptop. It turns out the liquid in my laptop wasn't effecting my laptop at all and I just had a wire loose in my hard drive! They also recommended I replace my track pad.

So for a new wire and track pad only cost me $168! $168 compared to $800 at the Apple Store is a steal. Now my laptop works brand new! Thank you so much guys! I recommend this place to anyone that has an issue with their Apple product. Side Note: Their office has a beautiful view of downtown San Francisco!
