This woman owned business offers excellent customer service! From their pick up services to the warehouse folks- they are top notch! Additionally, CompuCycle has run many community drives to collect electronic waste most of us would normally have to put in the landfills.

The Houston community is fortunate to have CompuCycle for end of life computer recycling and disposal services. Much to my surprise, their reseller program offers fantastic deals on refurbished laptops and provide different configurations to meet your needs.

OK, so I had a few old electronics to get rid of so I went here to Compucycle. Short version: Somewhat easy to find this place, but it's kind of confusing once you get inside. There isn't someone there to greet you. However, the people are nice and will give you a receipt that shows you have recycled your stuff. Actually, that about sums it up.

I also have to agree with Stephanie H.'s suggestion - they should put a sign or banner out in front because it is really easy to pass this location if you are not sure what you are looking for.

Where to get rid of that old CRT analog TV without paying a fee? This is it! Be aware that the address is 8019 Kempwood Dr., Houston 77055. Phone number is the same, but their website has also changed (submitted that as an update to Yelp). I found this location after searching for Harris County/Houston electronics recyclers. We were in quite a fix, as we had two old analog TVs that didn't work any more.

One was pretty big, while the other one was small. Searching on the internet for places to get rid of these proved to be a daunting task. Every drop-off location charged a fee - usually $25 per TV. CompuCycle works in conjunction with the City of Houston, and there is NO FEE to drop off any and all electronic equipment - old VCRs, printers - you name it. Hours are flexible (open every day except Sunday), parking is adequate (you're in and out pretty quickly) and help is provided getting that old stuff out of your car. Access is easy off of either the SH Tollway or US 290. Any place that recycles something rather than relegating it to a landfill is a 5-star business for me.

Monica V set an appointment for me to drop off an external hard drive - they will punch a hole in it before recycling - a great privacy/safety measure - and they provide a certificate of their work once complete. I appreciate this organization.

Great place to drop off electronics not being used around the house. No charge, and someone will even help you take out large items from your car. Fast and easy process no paper work or information needed.

Caveat Emptor! - they will not pay you for dropping off your electronics! Nor will they give you a receipt! If you want to donate your old tube tv they will charge you.25 per pound!

Pretty interesting place. If you need a good deal on an older machine check it out.

A great place to recycle old electronics. I've dropped off plenty of old CPU's, keyboards, mice, phones, etc. Don't let the name fool you, they also accept tons of household items that you may want to recycle as well -- fans, hair dryers, kitchen appliances, etc. It's super easy. Just drive up, enter the driveway, follow the drive around and drop off your items. I've seen employees even help folks who need a hand with heavy items. Do good for the environment. Recycle your old/dead electronics. Do it here. This place is professional and organized.

Found this place on the official City of Houston website so I assume it's a legit place. Not in a great part of town but you wouldn't expect this type of facility to be in galleria or anything. Had to recycle old desktops and cell phones so the website states there is a drive through drop off behind their building. Front of the building is your normal office building strip and back is where the large trucks dock.

There are palettes of electronic equipment everywhere but right by the entrance there are labeled palettes and boxes for different type of electronic equipment. Didn't see a single person but the drop off was pretty self explanatory and easy.
