Telephone inquiry finds this company doesn't carry USB cables, such as a USB Y-cable to run my external DVD drive on my older laptop. So, without a cable, I thought I'd spend even more money, and buy an entirely new external DVD drive (only to get the included USB cables). Nope, they didn't have any external DVD drives. HUH? Walmart probably does. OfficeMax does.
They cost nothing via mail-order but the postage costs more than the silly cable and I don't want to wait. Again, the big box stores beat the local little guy in oblivion because the local guy only wants to replace cracked iPad screens, not provide computer solutions.

Took my laptop in for a checkup because the audio system wasn't working, me and worker agreed that there would be no work done until I was notified and I consented after problem was found. Received a call the next day saying they "fixed" it. Want to know what they did? Uninstalled my audio driver and restarted my computer. That's it. And they charged me $65 dollars. Total rip off and very unprofessional! Oh and the problem was not fixed either, only worked for a day.

Replaced the optical drive on my Alienware M15x and was having a boot issue. After struggling with Dell customer service I called Velocita off a local google search. The gentleman who answered was very polite and miles more knowledgeable than Dell. Not only did he explain to me how the boot process works, he gave me a few tips on where to start. Didnt push to make a sale or anything like that. If I cant figure it out myself, or even if I can I will bring all my computer related service needs to them from now on. VERY IMPRESSED!

I brought a printer to repair and paid $85 upfront for the problem to be investigated. The extra cost to repair the issue was $125, but after that issue was fixed, another one popped up. To that point, Don let me know it was not worth spending more money on that printer. When I came to pick my printer up and pay, Don waived the $125 I owed without me asking for anything! WOW! That was very much appreciated since I am currently unemployed and don't even get my unemployment paid due to the government shutdown!

Completely changed my view on this type of store, what I would call a computer only tech store. Always thought stores dedicated to mostly computers would be overpriced or too techy for me. Would always go to BestBuy or such to get my laptop's or home computers but everything about this location is fantastic from selection to price to the people working there would definitely recommend to anyone.

I called numerous times TIM AND STEVE were suppose to call me back never did. Then I called and asked to speak to the manager at 4:00 pm. I was put on hold and then told by Robin that he was out to lunch. Steve jumped on my computer finally! Then says he needs more time and because it was 10 minutes before they closed and never called back the next day! The manager refuses to pick the phone. I'm still waiting for a call back. Don't go to these guys. Lazy and not trustworthy.

This review is only about their personal computer service. I've never used them for business solutions. I'm torn here because I really like the owner. He's a great guy and his staff and friendly. However, his technicians are not good at their jobs. I walked in with a PC that wasn't working and asked the tech to do some very specific tasks to see what exactly wasn't working since I didn't have the necessary tools.
I get the PC back and the tech tells me the stuff I asked him to check is working just fine and my motherboard is dead. So I trust him and buy a new motherboard. Long story short, the tech lied to me about the work he'd done. Turns out the issue was a faulty stick of RAM which I specifically asked him to test for. The motherboard was fine. The tech didn't even have to take my word for it (even though it was what I specifically asked him to do), any competent computer technician should know to check for these issues.
But he didn't. Not only did he not do the work I asked but I suspect he didn't do any work on the computer at all and simply guessed at the issue from the symptoms I told him.

Consulted them on data recovery for a hard drive. Appreciated their candor about what could be done and not done when they could have easily just said bring it in, pay a lot of money and then nothing could be done. Suggested what I kid of already knew but always nice to see some honesty as IT people can be a bit shifty or at least over-promise in my experience
