Called this company for assistance due to my computer being hacked along with my email accounts, bank accounts. I inquired if there was anything they could do to assist me and the individual that I spoke with declined to give his name but, ultimately stated that he wasn't going to do anything that someone in trouble. In other words, this company and its employees are okay with not concerned that a crime is being committed because it's not happening to them or their family.
They are okay with aiding and abiding in a crime when they can assist in stopping this from happening. God forbid that this happens to countless men and women in the community, you are on your own if you think they will assist in stopping the terrorizing and cyber crimes that are currently being committed against me! If I could give this company a minus zero I would!

I have never been so disgusted with the service that I received at any business that I've rushed to write a review as soon as I returned home. until today. I took my 5 month old computer to Intrex Durham to have a hinge repaired. Today, nearly two weeks later, I got a call that the hinge was repaired. but that the computer hard drive crashed, Windows 10 was wiped out and all my files were gone, "and that will be $130 for the pleasure of having us totally jack up your computer." $30 for 20 minutes labor, and $100 for "diagnostics". which is utter BS because it was readily apparent that the issue was a broken hinge.
This is one of the most dishonest businesses with absolutely poor quality work that I have ever encountered. What a total sham! I would never recommend them to anyone for anything.

We brought in my daughters laptop for repair sometime towards the end of June. We were told at the time that they wouldn't even be able to look at it until after July 4th. Sigh. Okay. We finally get a call sometime around July 10 with an estimate. We have to pre-pay for parts. Okay, can I do that over the phone? "No." I drive down to the store to pay in person and am told that it will be 7-10 days. 10 days later, no response.
I call for an update. "We've been trying to call. we must have the wrong phone number." I ask them to read the phone number to me, it's correct. I'm informed that they need to order yet another part, and it will be next week before the laptop is ready. Over a week goes by and no call. I'm leaving to go out of town and I make arrangements to pre-pay the remaining balance and give them my daughter's phone number to call her when it's ready so she can pick it up.
Over a week goes by, and still no call. I finally get back into town and call them on August 12 (now 6 weeks since I dropped it off), and am informed that they accidentally broke the screen, are waiting on a replacement, and that it would be a few more days. I finally picked up the laptop on August 14. TL;DR: It took them 6 weeks to fix our laptop, the communication of issues was non-existent, and they broke the laptop while in their possession, causing further delays.

I am actually a repeat customer. Purchased a motherboard for my pc. I had them install it cause I can fix a car but I can't install a motherboard. Good thing I asked them to do it. My new motherboard had no audio from the rear of the pc. So I ordered a new motherboard from Intrex they warrantied the one they installed for me. They also did a case swap on my old dell cause the power button stopped working bought a used case and they did a great clean up on all the dust that was inside the old dell.
New motherboard installed. New case for old pc. All work is 100% perfect. They are very honest and up front about any repair they are going to do. If it's worth fixing. If anything needs upgrading while they have it. I even told Jason I have x amount of dollars to spend on it while I have it here should I upgrade ram? Better fans? So forth and so on.
He was honest and told me it needed no more upgrades at the time. So I was thankful for that. I highly recommend these guys. Turn around time is a couple days and it's always on time. Check these guys out. I have shopped around and these guys and lady are the best there is.

They've been around for years locally owned and operated. You can still get a good quality clone box built there with service from them just the way you want it or some off the shelf Marine computers that are competitive prices as well. I've always gotten good support when I went in and now that the other stores closed on capital Boulevard their competitor I'm more grateful they're still here.

We brought my laptop to Intrex because it was a fairly new Lenovo and still under warranty when the keyboard went bad. It took 2 months for Lenovo to release the part we needed, no fault of Intrex. The folks at Intrex were very friendly when I called to ask for updates. They did not call us when the laptop was ready, we had to call them. That was the one part of the process that I would have changed. Otherwise, I'm very happy with their friendly service.

Went to Intrex to get an old laptop repaired. They later called and told me they needed the "imprint" of my credit card to make repairs and couldn't take this information over the phone. I was not local and found their point-of-sale system archaic to say the least. In addition, this bogus policy is not listed on their board in the store. I doubt this is even true and will never go there again! They SUCK!

If you are building your own computer don't go here.go online instead the hassle of waiting for parts will be the same and you will save tons of money. If you find something at Best Buy or Target that's a little more expensive, go there because if it messes up at least you can return it and get your money back. Horrible customer service - i bought a $160 motherboard.it was working fine except for 2 slots.the guy had a look at it and said that I had damaged the CPU pins myself and I was out of luck. No offer to repair or anything. Worst part, manufacturer does not cover this issue. So I spent $160 for something that does not work at all.

Brought my computer in for repair - was stunned at the cost. Then I had to pay an extra $100 to have my desktop restored. Everyone was very nice, and they sure know what they are doing. Almost two months later, I realized there were a few things missing from my desktop when I went to use them. Called, and was told I would have to pay another $100 because it was past the 30 day guarantee.
I think that is wrong - they should stand behind their work no matter what. And, they don't offer a discount for seniors, and the $50 fee for diagnosing the problem is extra, not included in the total fee. I will not be using them again - can't afford it, and now I have lost my respect for them.

I went to Intrex to have them diagnose a problem with my computer after I ran out of ideas. I paid them there substantial diagnostic fee and they said that the problem was my mother board. After replacing my motherboard and still having the same problems I finally managed to figure out that everything was being caused by an issue with another component.
When I contacted Intrex to let them know this and try to get them to take care of the fact that they had misdiagnosed my problem they flatly refused. If you need really basic service that you just don't want to do yourself Intrex may be be okay but they don't really know what they are doing when it comes to more complicated stuff. Also you can buy every part in there store online for a fraction of the cost.

I have purchased products from Intrex on two separate occasions. Each time they wasted my time taking all my personal information, for receipt purposes in their system. The second time I bought from them, I got a wireless adapter for my computer. When the product broke still within a year's time, I went back to Intrex. The man was unbelievably rude, and was unable to find me by the names or phone numbers of anyone i've ever freaking known.
I have had one phone number for years. I have had my name equally as long. Unless they purge their system of data, they are cheaters and liars. There is absolutely ZERO way they couldn't find my information, having purchased from them multiple times. I was so frustrated, and the man was so very very rude to me that I was in tears and had to excuse myself from the store.
I have never been treated so poorly at any establishment, and it's so sad to think that a store that I once regarded highly will lose me as a customer forever because of such a small part. At this point, I'm concerned at where my information has gone! They didn't collect it for no reason, so what did they do with it, if not store it?
Save yourself, and just go to Radioshack. I'll never step foot in that God forsaken store again. 245B South Elliott Road, Chapel Hill, NC was the worst place of business I've ever been tricked into purchasing from!

My laptop fan broke and was off-warranty and this place was recommended by school's tech support. Intrex assured me that the repair would not take longer than a week. It ended up taking 3 weeks and was a total disaster. The price also ended up being about $50 more than what was quoted. I would not recommend this place for computer repair.

Locally owned computer store. Offers a great selection of cables of every kind. Stuff you will never find at a big box store. They also sell bare bones hard driver, memory etc at commodity prices. But even if you are not a computer geek, the knowledgeable staff will help and keep you from buying the wrong thing. They all know what they are doing and will take the time to help you figure out what you need.

I was going to give this place 2 stars (maybe 3) but they were going to charge 120 dollars to do a machine transplant. Which was more a long the lines of the REALLY?! to me So i went a long my way of buying the case I wanted and moved on to another place. Then I came back to return the case after the guy who was going to help me ran a quick analysis on the machine and we determined it was the power supply not the starter on the case.
A very unhappy manager/ owner. some guy with the code to return comes from the back acting like this is a huge inconvenience to him. (tone of voice and determiner) Then proceeds to try to hurry me into picking up my power supply so he can do the return, complaining at the front about something or another the whole time. (there was one guy who was pretty chill who I dealt with first. i give him 3stars) long story short. these guys MIGHT know what they are doing. MIGHT. I'm just not going to give them the satisfaction of proving themselves.
Go to Dunvipe computers in carrboro, then come her to get the part you need, then take it back to Dunvipe to get worked on. If there was another place with the parts I would say go to it.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR REPAIRS. I went in with my computer when it stopped getting charge from the power cord; I pointed out to the repair guy that the cord was damaged and the wires were showing (he ignored me). I was hoping they would just figure out which universal power cord worked with my computer so I could buy it, but he took it back and then returned a few minutes later saying that the power cord was functional, so it must be the computer.
I didn't have the money to pay for a diagnostic and repairs, so I just held onto my computer for awhile. Today, I went in and reiterated my problem; the same guy looked at my computer and told me it would cost almost $300 to do the types of repairs needed. Why he couldn't tell me this the first time, I don't know. I took my computer and power cord to Best Buy; the guy listened to our story, looked at the power cord, and told us he'd double check anything before charging us; he tried a new power cord, and my computer booted up just fine; it was the damaged cord the whole time!
Best Buy gave me the power cord for free and didn't charge me for service. I know that BB and Intrex are supposed to have different purposes; my husband and I always tried to go to Intrex for parts because we like the guys at the front desk and try to use local businesses. However, if there repair shop is unable to diagnose a non-working cord--with visible damage AND the customer pointing it out--I have little faith in their abilities.
