I think this business might be closed. The address on yelp and their website is incorrect and the doorman next door said that they've been out of the location for over a year. The new address they posted on the door is not valid. They never answer their phone, return calls, or reply to queries on the website. They might do good work but if they can't be bothered to update their website a year after they moved, or answer phone calls, I don't think I want them touching my computer anyway.

I'm afraid my experience is the same as a few others here - absolutely miserable. You 'want' to like these guys, especially Stanley the owner. Unfortuntely - the place is in the process of moving to a new location, and Stanley has somehow disappeared to do other things. That leaves a guy named Jon minding the front, who has no business being in the front of the store dealing with customers.
He seems nice enough, but will never give you a clear answer of when your computer, hard drive etc will be ready. I brought a hard-drive in. In APRIL for data recovery. It's now end of AUGUST. I've dropped by, called, zillions of times. Half the time they're not sure which hard-drive I'm talking about, they've lost my records.
The drive has to go to Richmond, Va for recovery. A guy in the back, Antonio, who speaks broken English has to drive it down there. But then Antonio is the only guy who knows what's up with your drive, and Jon will pass all questions to him. Antonio is often away. Hard to reach on the phone. Recently, Antonio now works at another location, but he's only there part-time.
I have no idea where my drive is. Jon won't answer. And Stanley is MIA. These guys are horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. Even when Stanley was there, repairs would take weeks and weeks.

Terrible experience. I went in for a data recovery and the process took THREE MONTHS -- and even then, I didn't end up with my data back. I called many times throughout and was never given a very clear answer as to the status because the person who was performing the actual work was either not in or on vacation. They are friendly enough, but my experience was miserable.
When I finally did get a status update, they said "it's toast" and offered to repair. First, no one wants to hear "it's toast" when you're talking about losing family pictures, important files, etc. Second, I didn't have another three months to wait for a repair. Sent laptop to another company later who said the recovery process is possible (it's not "toast" after all!?), but was severely hampered by this company's work. Steer clear of this place.

My experience was very mixed. The good: these guys are very nice and technically skilled. They can do all sorts of computer repair. The bad: they are better with computers than customer service. I had to repeatedly call them, ask about the repair status, and remind them to work on it. That was not all their problem because it took a long time to get the right part in.
But I had to call and nag them to get it done which I don't appreciate. Also they forgot to let me know it was fixed so I didn't even know it was done until I called to check in again and learned they'd finished it a week ago. The price: the initial quote was a good deal ($200 for a motherboard repair) however when they could not repair my existing motherboard and had to order a new one the final price ended up being twice that.
This was not a good deal compared to the quote ($330) I got for out-of-warranty repair from the manufacturer. Bottom line: I probably won't go back. Nice folks but too frustrating to deal with and expensive.

My repair took three days longer than expected, and the price was $25.00 above the quoted price! I was told the problem was fixed and quoted a price but before I arrived to pick it up they discovered that it needed more work. The screen problem was fixed but they broke the keyboard such that about 10 keys didn't work. That took another day of work to repair.
The owner was pleasant and apologetic as well as attentive. Would I use them again? Maybe. I believe I got more attention here than I would have got at Best Buy. I also talked to H Street Business Solutions located in Silver Spring, MD. They gave me a very good impression. I would also consider them for a repair. 90 day warranty is up and it's still working! 03/23/13 - The problem came back about a month ago.
I know I'll have to have it fixed again soon. This time it'll be taken somewhere else. 05/16/2013 I took the laptop to Computer 4Less - 1309 Rhode Island Ave NE and another location on Mt. Pleasant. I lucked up on this place as I was walking on Mt. Pleasant. It was repaired with a 24 hour turn around. Last year when I picked my laptop up from Computer Accessory Store after they had it a week, the keyboard wasn't working. This shop told me the quality of work Computer Accessory did was poor. I believed him. I'm officially NOT a Computer Accessory Store customer any more!

Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the process of my data recovery request. I was initially skeptical from having read a few other reviews but I concluded the negative reviews seemed to be infrequent and likely mostly exaggerated from the language and style of each write-up. I decided to give them a shot - talked with Stanley (owner) who walked me through the various potential outcomes for my recovery situation.
In the end, I left with a full recovery that was completed in a reasonable amount of time (given circumstances of my recovery situation), at a reasonable cost, by a local small business owner. I'm very pleased with my experience overall and will return if I have a similar need in the future.

I received very poor service from the computer accessory store, to be fair they did try to rectify their mistakes but there was a great lack of communication between the owner and the technicians. They claimed they could fix the problems easily and without losing my data, when I picked up my computer and turned it on the same problems were blatantly still there.
They replaced the hard drive and basically without consulting me and did not warn me that I would lose EVERYTHING. The computer was in their possession for a month, and despite calls telling me it was in Virginia, etc, when I finally was allowed to retrieve it, I overheard the technician saying "are they FINALLY picking that thing up?" when I had been told all along it was not ready. Anyway I would definitely NOT recommend this store and would not have spent the money ($380) to fix up a computer that is now completely useless, what a waste!

If there was a way to give this place negative stars, I would. The service here is so amazingly bad. I needed my computer fixed. They initially told me five days. It took three weeks. When I got it back, the thing wasn't even finished. The technician, Antonio, is so beyond arrogant and angry that it's offensive; how someone like this keeps a job is beyond me.
They took me into the back, where there was a sign saying "Antonio, wear gloves!". And what was he doing? Working on people's hard drives without gloves. The service is miserable. It's putrid. They try to play off as a local business, but really it's just a craphole.

I had a terrible experience - please do not take any truly serious problem to this store - particularly on important issues like data recovery. while (some of) the people were nice, it feels like their operation is a relatively small setup, which implies that they will not have the most sophisticated tools at their disposal. they were fairly slow to respond to queries and they may have worsened the problems. it has been most upsetting because i think that they ruined my hard drive. the data recovery is likely to cost me a fortune, when i get it done from a credible source now, if the data can be recovered at all. all in all - avoid the place if it's likely to be a major issue or really important work.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with the computer accessory store. Before I explain the situation, I do want to say that I believe their prices to be very fair. However, for all the trouble they put me through, I would have rather forked over the extra money. First and foremost, it took them four weeks to fix my computer. 29 whole days.
I don't have a backup laptop, so this was an enormous inconvenience and really frustrating. However, I understand that maybe it was a complicated problem? So even though 4 weeks seems completely unacceptable, I don't think it's enough to warrant one star. However, everything else they did IS bad enough to warrant one star. About two weeks in, I started getting frustrated that it was taking a while.
I called to check on it, and it turns out they hadn't even started repairing it because they were waiting for me to authorize the repairs. Um. shouldn't you call me to do that? So I authorize the repair, and they need to order parts. But it turns out that the parts they order don't actually fix the problem. I call again to check on it, and the guy on the phone says he's "90% sure it'll be done by Friday".
So I call on Friday, and it's not done. They said, "oh yeah we realized that we confused your computer with someone else's." Okay, so why didn't anyone call or email me to let me know that it wouldn't, in fact, be done? We're at three weeks now, and so I call again to check on it. I'm told, "we'll call you right back." I wait a few hours, no one calls, so I call again.
They say, "we'll call you back in 15 minutes." I wait an hour, and no one calls me. I call for a third time, get the guy on the phone, and he tells me that they've just now determined what is wrong with my computer, but it'll take another week to fix. Jesus Christ. When I finally went to pick it up, the guy in line in front of me was yelling at the cashier because he was told his computer would be ready, and it wasn't. I wanted to say, "hey, sounds familiar."

I would say that their customer service and professionalism could definitely use some improvement. The owner Stanley is very nice and does his best to accomodate your needs and is very understanding (I came in upset about losing 7 years worth of pictures!) The staff seems a little disorganized and all over the place, but if you're patient enough, Stanley and his staff usually deliver.
