Since late 2019 we've been consulting with industry experts and collecting feedback from trade shows, our Support Team, and Inspectors like you. In early February of 2020 we began testing the Web Writer with focus groups to validate that we were on the right path. As of now, any HomeGauge ONE subscriber, both new and existing, gets access to Web Writer AND Classic Desktop as part of their HomeGauge ONE subscription.
Being a HomeGauge Inspector now gets you a reduced premium on Errors & Omissions and General Liability/Off Premises coverage through our preferred provider, OREP. I have been using this software for over 12 years. In the beginning, this software was great and very user friendly. However, it is not compatible with MAC. They told me that they were working on making it work with a MAC, but 12 years later it still not been completed. My entire office runs on apple products and the desktop and all mobile devices do not work or do not work properly or efficiently with this product.
Their customer support is EXTREMELY NICE and pleasant to deal with, but their constant changes to the software is a challenge. Many of my customers do not receive the confirmation emails that are sent to them or they are blocked. If the customer's email is on a private server or has a government email address, they will not receive the emails at all.
Every week there are at least 3-4 customers that you have to spend extra time with help them get access to the homegauge website to view the report, sign the contract and sometimes even pay for the report. By this point, your customer already upset that they cannot view their report which makes the inspector look bad. For many years, I was a strong proponent for this software, but it is starting to hinder my business. I can no longer support this product and I am in the process of finding new software.

As a new home inspector I have had nothing but problem after problem with starting out with their software. They have had attitude when addressing my concerns and it is hit or miss customer service, depending on who you get on the phone. The company has transitioned since I have started using the software and it does not seem for the better. The software is good as far as being able to critique with what you can. Anything outside of that with the company has been difficult.

The program is fine, but they email you your name AND password each time an inspector sends you a report. Be sure to use a password you use for NOTHING else, as there's simply no thought put into security with this company. (Emailed a request to them to change this months ago, got a response that they were aware of the issue and were working on it; should've been an overnight fix, but still occurring!)
