The hard disk on my 2014 MacMini failed. I brought it to Mac Medics in Severna Park in the afternoon and learned they could put in an SSD for me if I provided it. I ordered one they recommended from Amazon, which was delivered to them at 5:49 the next morning. At 8:26 that morning Mac Medics called to let me know the computer was ready with a copy of Monterey installed. Fabulous service at a very good price! I also learned that sell Macs and they service iphones and Apple watches.

I'm 100% impressed with the team at MacMedics Severna Park. Seldom do you find an electronics repair shop that isn't trying to upsell you into purchasing items and services you don't need. I first went to the store in fall 2021 when my LaCie Rugged External Hard Drive stopped communicating with my 2015 Macbook Pro in the middle of a video project. MacMedics Severna Park took a look and let me know I have a factory warranty covering data recovery.
This is a service they could have attempted and easily charged me hundreds of dollars to complete. The fact that a MacMedics Severna Park technician called me and advised me of the warranty and coverage spoke to the character of this small business' management and staff. My second encounter with the Severna Park MacMedics staff was in winter 2022, when my aging 2015 Macbook Pro started malfunctioning during the latest macOS update.
After spending one day on the phone with Adobe Creative Cloud Customer Service and then another day on the phone with Apple's Genius Bar I felt I needed to talk with a human that appeared to care. So back to the MacMedics Severna Park store I went. I was blessed to chat with a manager that walked me through the scenario and advised me on the best Mac upgrade to suit my audio/video production needs.
I left the MacMedics Severna Park store with a spec sheet detailing my next major laptop purchase and a greater understanding of the equipment, MINUS the high pressure sales I may have experienced elsewhere. They didn't have to spend time with me, but they did. That means a lot! I appreciate the professionalism, expertise and attention to customer service at the MacMedics Severna Park store, and will advise everyone I know to go there for their Mac repair needs. ###

The owner at this store in Severna Park Maryland is basically an Apple brand magician. Dana has had this store for over 30 years, and had my vintage MacBook up and running in five minutes. I'll be headed back to buy a brand new MacBook Pro next week. If you don't live close by, this place is worth the drive.

I really needed a new battery for a MacBook Air, but the Apple Store told me they would have to send it out and I could be without it for a week or more. MacMedics had it repaired within hours! Forget making an appointment at the Genius Bar. just come here instead. It'll save you tons of time and money.

My IPhone crashed on a Friday in the middle of moving. The Apple store was unable to help and I had no phone backup to the Cloud. I arrived before closing and Dana stayed an hour past closing to save my phone and get all of my photos and data! I could not have been more impressed and grateful. Highly recommend and I plan to use MacMedics for all my Apple needs moving forward! Amazing knowledge and customer service.

I have done many repairs of everything in the Apple product line here in the past several years - iPhone batteries and screens, Apple Watch screen, bulged/distended MacBook case from a failed battery, iPad battery failing, probably others I've forgotten. All of the repairs were quick, professional, and satisfying. I would recommend anyone use Mac Medics for any of their needs.
They also offer data recovery type services, but I've. It used these. They have a pretty complete line of new and used hardware too, so this is a good choice for purchases as well.

I learned a long time ago, that if you want something done right, go to the experts. And since Apple is on the West Coast and I am in Maryland, I go to MacMedics! My latest experience. Had a 2015 MBA that was getting tired and wanted to give it to my kid to freshen up her older one. Took it in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and wanted them to clean up the drive, give it the once over and update the OS. Got call the following morning that all was good to go.
While they are a bit further than the mall, in COVID times, they are a lot safer, and really not too much further for me! Pricing is the same as the Apple store and they repair ALL and sell all but the phones (I think). I love supporting local businesses and Dana and his crew are one that I wholeheartedly recommend!

My computer's battery was being faulty. I called AppleCare, and they gave me three places I could take my Mac. So happy I chose MacMedics, even though it was a much farther drive for me. They were the ones who were most available on the phone while also giving me the shortest estimate on when I could get my computer back--an estimate that ended up being exactly when I was back in business.
After a few days since I got my computer back, I see no issues whatsoever with their work. I was also extremely glad to see how much they cared about the safety of their staff and customers, with limited people in the store, masks required, and either social distancing or plexi-glass barriers, with constant sanitation. I felt extremely safe in all ways with MacMedics, and as someone who just moved to the area, I will seek them out immediately next time I have a problem or concern. Highest Recommendation.

BLUF: DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE. I have been meaning to post this review for a while, just hadn't got around to it until now. I was in Maryland visiting from overseas, I brought my Mac (2013) specifically to MacMedics because of the Yelp reviews. I was a huge dummy and knocked my drink over on the keyboard and after drying it out, the battery was not recharging, but everything powered on just fine, I could use it but was running out of battery time.
They seemed awesome enough, regardless of the attempts to upsell me on some service they offered. I was not interested, maybe that is when they were not interested in helping me fix the issue. They claimed they ran tests on my Mac and it was determined that it was the logic board and it was going to cost. over $1200, I cannot remember the exact amount, but I know it was over that.
I said I can almost buy another computer for that amount, they said, "not of the same specs as yours." That is when I definitely did not trust them. I came back to Korea talked to my fiance (wife now) and whined like a little girl about the cost to fix the problem. She said it probably is just the battery and they were trying to scam you. She ordered an authentic replacement battery for my computer from China for $70 and I fixed it myself. MacMedics should change their name to MacScammers (I will be a dad soon, I am practicing the dad jokes). Joking aside, do not come here-- if you do, question these scammers.

I had a great experience at MacMedics yesterday. My father was looking for a new desktop, and he's always had PCs, but I know that he has an iPhone and an iPad, so I suggested he check out MacMedics to see if they had something refurbished that could meet his needs. I follow them on IG and own a business down the road from them, so I've been aware of them for quite a while even though I had never been a customer. Chris was knowledgeable and friendly and help my dad choose a refurbished iMac that met his needs and was well below his budget. I'm not an Apple guy myself, but I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Their service is top notch and the value for what you get is amazing.

This afternoon, I went to pick up my iMac from the Mac medic store. I happened by the store a little more than a year ago. it's over near the Severna Park area off of Benfield Road. I've been a pretty strong Apple/Mac fanatic for more than a dozen years now. This current iMac is about six years old, and I felt it was time to convert from the old spinning hard drive to an SSD, fusion.
If you've been to an Apple store lately, you've likely noticed they're very crowded and getting appointments with Genius Bar's is pretty confounding. Also, they will not do upgrades on IMACs where SSDs are concerned. In fact they repaired my fusion drive a little bit more than a year ago and never even connected the fusion piece with both the little SSD in the spinning hard drive to make it work correctly, so the Imac consequently was much slower.
At any rate this is about MacMedics. I'm so glad they're not far from me these guys are easy to talk to very flexible, and can help you with all of your upgrades or repairs With your Mac, or I believe with your iPads and iPhones as well. They also sell used refurbished as well as brand new components MacBooks, IMAX iPads I even saw A brand new drove out sitting in the store this afternoon in fact one model that I was pretty interested in.
This is my second time using their services and I can't say that I've been any thing less than pleased. On both occasions! Sorry for the long and drawn out story here, but it's all worth noting. You don't have to go to an Apple store to get your Apple products repaired.! Bottom line is give these guys your business you won't be disappointed. Reasonably priced, great service timely excellent follow up and good details.
I will be back with them again. Guys my 2013 iMac with my new SSD fusion drive is just as you said. It is smoking by comparison it feels like a brand new machine. Thank you so much Mac Medics!

*WARNING: Long post, but important information. Also, I am not trying to bash their business, but I wanted to share my experience* I brought in my laptop to Mac Medics to get my battery and trackpad replaced because my battery was very swollen and my trackpad was cracked. My battery cost ($129), the trackpad cost (about $89) and labor cost ($99). Excited to know that my laptop was able to be fixed, I trusted MacMedics and left my laptop to be fixed.
I dropped it off Friday afternoon, and it was ready by the end of the day. Very speedy. I went the following day, Saturday, to pick up my laptop. The laptop was working and looked great. However, I found a crack on my screen, on the bottom left. The manager (Dana) told me that it was not their fault (repeatedly) because my screen was a bit loose. The screen has been loose for over 5 years now, and it has never affected my screen until the ONE day I decide to leave it there.
He was very apathetic, extremely rude, and almost raising his voice towards me. I asked him if he was able to offer me some kind of discount from the service I got. He said no because he is not responsible for the cracked screen. He must have gotten frustrated because he told me that he could just take HIS parts out of my computer if I was so unsatisfied.
That was a very unprofessional and rude remark. He then told me that he would take $50 off my bill because he wanted to "work with me". I am not sure if that is the real reason because he did decline me earlier. He also wanted to take a picture of the crack on my screen to show his manager, and to keep for their records. I then asked him if he could write in their system and on my receipt of the event that took place and why a $50 discount was issued.
He hesitated and told me that I was putting a lot of stress on him. I was so shocked he said that because why wouldn't they want to document that.? SHADY! How is he going to take a picture of my computer for his record, but not write down a simple two sentences for my record? He eventually wrote it and gave it to me. I definitely would not recommend this place.
Or make sure that you fully inspect your device AND take pictures of it. But there are other Apple authorized services providers, besides MacMedics. He also said that he would discuss with his manager and give me a callback, but it's been two weeks since the incident and I have received no callback.
