Began with great customer service from everyone. From the point of dropping my laptop off with the store, all the way to picking it up from them. They were not able to correct my issues I was having with my laptops hard drive ribbon cable that connects to the mother board, and this is not what prompts the review. However, what does, I am unsure of any other business where they expect payment, when nothing was fixed.
The computer store charged me a $45 "diagnostic fee". When I dropped off my laptop I was told nothing would be charged until after I received and accepted a quote via a phone call from the service tech. The phone call I received was very profession but to shorten the the review it can be summed up to "sorry we cant fix it, all the parts are in china with 60-90 day shipping." Upon pick up I was notified that it would be a $45 for diagnostic fee.
The signs that are attached to the registers should give a much clearer understanding of what the Diagnostic fee is and clearly state no matter what, it will be charged to every customer no matter if work was done or not to your device / that it is NOT apart of the quote you'll receive, but expected customer robbery. You don't pay auto mechanics for quotes, or even fence companies for a quite to build a fence, why should we pay you, for not fixing anything?
I'll be sure to avoid the computer store and inform any individual that ask if I have and computer store recommendations of this situation. Final thoughts: great customer service, horrendous customer relations and business model.

SO, I TOOK MY LAPTOP TO THE COMPUTER STORE IN 2021 & THEY REPLACED THE BOTTOM OF MY LAPTOP WITHOUT LOOSING MY DATA ON MY LAPTOP, IT WAS IN THIER SHOP FOR A FEWS DAYS & I PICKED IT UP & NO PROBLEMS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GOOD.

Been here a few times for multiple computers and laptops. They have always been super friendly. They called me to see if I wanted them to address something I hadn't noticed before and that wasn't on my service request before they did it. Usually they were done with the computers the same day. Super friendly staff and great customer service. They also gave me a printout of everything they did. Highly recommend them.

After having major issues with Best Buy geek squad I took my computer to the computer store for repair. I am honestly shocked how amazing the customer service is along with the staff offering me multiple options to fix my computer not just the option that makes the most money. I will truly be a life time customer. Hats off the the computer store!

Wow. Where to start? I'll make it as short and precise as possible. I tried reloading windows 7 on my laptop. It wouldn't load past the opening windows screen. I took it to The Computer Store. They charged a $30 diagnostic fee. After it sitting there for about a week I received a phone call telling me that the hard drive was bad and they were unable to reload windows.
I approved the fix. I received another call a couple days later stating that it would be better to get a new computer because the mother board was gone as well as the hard drive. I knew they spent their time on my laptop so no complaints about the $30. I almost tossed my less than 2 year old laptop in the garbage. Based upon what they told me at The Computer Store I made the decision to buy a new computer.
Their prices were substantially higher than Best Buy so I chose to purchase at Best Buy. While at Best Buy they told me about a service plan that I could buy that was only $100 and it would cover 3 devices. (Including devices I already had.) I thought let's see if the Geek Squad can do anything with my broken laptop. I turned in my broken laptop for free and they said they were going to run multiple tests on it to see why it wasn't finishing the system restore.
I don't know what they did exactly because they explained it to me but it went right over my head. What I do know is that they got Window 7 to load fine. Geek Squad told me my laptop is fine. I'm writing this review with my "garbage" computer. I went back to The Computer Store to ask for a refund because of their horrible advice. They told me that the $30 fee is non-refundable.
I couldn't help but to laugh because their diagnosis was to throw away my fully functional laptop. I paid $30 for that? I asked them if $30 dollars was really worth their reputation. Apparently it is. This is why I am writing this post. THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO hMMMM? ps I am local and not affiliated with any of the aforementioned businesses. I am a small business owner as well which is why I think I'm so perturbed. Hope my wasted five minutes helps someone make an educated decision.
