We've used Mac Made Easy before*, last fall when they put my iMac to rights. This time it was my MacBook Pro that I thought had been compromised. At my son's advice I brought it to Mac Made Easy to be "completely wiped or the hard drive replaced". Robert ran a malware scan & reassured me that there were no viruses, no malware, & that no "worms" or anything I was concerned about were residing in my MacBook.& that I wasn't an idiot (though I had been).
He did this with a smile, great kindness, & at no charge. Thank you, Robert, & thank you, Mac Made Easy. * an Apple SENIOR Advisor thoroughly screwed up my one year old iMac merely trying to install Big Sur (when it wouldn't). Apple would take no responsibility for the cost of undoing the damage even though it was UNDER an Apple Care policy. My first truly bad experience with Apple Support.

These folks are super knowledgeable and super helpful. I first went in because my iPhone 6s was acting up. Kahalu did a thorough check and made some recommendations. We also discussed an upcoming replacement of my "vintage" iPad mini (w 16GB memory). I came in a few months later and Robert assisted me in getting the 10" iPad plus getting it all set up for me. I'm an Elder, so I'm not exactly fluent in anything digital. These guys were simply great. Thank you!

The customer service was great but I will not be bringing back any of my devices. I came here to have my Face ID repaired and now I don't have my phone for who know how long. 1. I went to the store and explained the problem with my phone. My Face ID wasn't working. Told me it was an easy fix and all they had to do was wait for the part to come in.
They did the diagnostics and everything else, checked my phone of any damages. All cleared. This phone was brand new as well and just got it in march. iPhone 13 pro max 2. I get a call saying they had the part and to bring it in and they could do it right away. I told them okay I will be there in 10 minutes. Get there in 10 minutes and told me it was going to be an hour to repair.
So come back in an hour or i will receive a call through my partners phone. We checked to see if they had the correct phone number 3 times. This was at 11am. Two hours passes and I still didn't receive a phone call so I called and they told me that it will be done by the end of the day. 4pm comes around I still haven't received a call so I called them saying "hey, if you didn't get to my phone yet, no worries I can bring it another day" 3.
They answer to my phone call was "we sent you an email" I asked why they sent me an email when I had specifically told them to call my partner and they said that during after "REPAIRING" my phone, it wouldn't power on. And they were trying to get a hold of Apple. They then said a bunch of fluff and coming back on monday. I completely lost it. 4.
The front desk worker was kind enough to run home and let me borrow his backup phone until a had a working phone again but the person who had initially dealing with the situation never spoke to me or gave me an explanation, explained what was happening so I contacted Apple myself 5. Apple said it was still an ongoing repair and no request for replacement was put.
Not only do I have to wait to get an answer but I will not be having a phone for who knows how long. We also tried to call them today, this all happened yesterday and there was no answer. Still no solution. I want to specifically thank the people in the front who had helped me but the communication, repairs, timing and anything else I would give no stars to and not recommend to come back. It's Saturday and Apple told me if I had gone to them with the broken phone they would've fixed it or gave me a replacement but now I have to wait until Mac made easy is open to even start on a solution I work with special needs and children so having my phone is very important. If they guy hasn't hand me his phone I would've been out of work until receiving a new one

Wow. I hope the owner reads this! Customer service from employees was so great. I bought my computer from them that day:) Mine died (old iMac).my initial call to Matt was fantastic not only did he take the time to trouble shoot with me extensively I might add but then discussed several options on how to move forward. So detailed so specific to my needs and what I was looking to accomplish I purchased my new computer right then.
He also made sure I had everything I needed to go home and successfully get back on track. Now comes my failure with my back up.it didn't BUT not to worry because Mitchell is an absolute gem! He patiently took the time to talk to me in terms I could understand on how they would go about recovery, transfer files and save photos. But he didn't stop there he listened to what I was trying to accomplish setting up at home and gave me suggestions to successful get to where I wanted to be. Pictures files networking back up.incredibly knowledgeable and sent my new system home with me exactly as I asked.

I've had my MacBook serviced at the Kailua location several times and have always had pretty good customer service. Today I brought my MacBook in because the updates weren't running. I was seen by Valerie, who not only helped me find what was causing the problem, but let me hang out in the store for more than an hour while updates ran, to make sure there were no other glitches.
She talked story with me and checked in on me routinely. And didn't charge me anything. I'm so appreciative. And when I'm ready for an upgrade, I'm definitely getting it from this store, because they have a loyalty program for discounted service if you buy your computer from them.

It was not a great experience- the guys tending the store were nice enough, but one had his nose hanging out of his mask. I'm sorry, yeah it's not the Apple Store with tight corporate controls and the "Genius Bar, " but it doesn't take a genius to know that noses expel breath just like mouths. The other part of the Genius Bar experience they did have going on- that same "genius" tried to mansplain issues of music production to me when I've been producing music on computers longer than he's been alive.

The guys here are always so helpful, especially to those who seem to be the least tech savvy, myself included! It was the end of the day last Saturday and they helped me with my iPhone 6. It has problems with its charging portal where I had to put on one cable in one position or it wouldn't charge! He gave me good advice about selecting a new one while clearing the portal of problems that were impeding charging.
Once he finished, it was charging without issues or particular positions. I asked him how much I owed him. He said nothing. Huh? I offered him a tip. "No." But you've really helped me here, there must be something I can give you? He says, "Well, you could give us a review". So, here I am. This isn't the first time they've helped me out and refused payment.

Our son's MacBook Air has issues with its monitor and the friendly expert at Mac Made Easy was able to look it up in the database and confirm that we didn't buy AppleCare. We should have but - next time! The computer is still functional so we decided not to splurge on a repair. We were able to recycle some old Macs that we have been meaning to take down for a long time. Nice clean store. Super knowledgeable help. Easy to park in back too. We will be back for future purchases.

Went in with a broken laptop screen. I originally thought it was going to be 500$ however after the guys there looked at the laptop they told me it could actually be covered under warranty. The service was great, really fast and they accommodated my school schedule. Everyone there was super nice and the one tech looks like Antoni Porowski (at least with his mask on). Google him and tell me I am wrong. Overall 10/10

This is my second review, as Yelp pulled my first one. Probably an indication that the business didn't want it public facing. After coming here twice, I experienced the same poor service. 1st Visit: Booked an appointment via Apple for my iPhone (cracked screen) since the Apple store was limited because it was the beginning of the pandemic. I drove 45min to the location, only to be told the person that does the diagnostics is out.
How about a courtesy call, it's not like I was the first appointment for the day. Someone could've reviewed the scheduled appointments and scoped what work was being done that day. Additionally, I'm certain this is a skill that can be easily repeated by anyone with the credentials to the tool. I cancelled my appointment and decided to go with the Oahu iPhone mobile tech (recommend).
I never heard back from Mac Made Easy regarding the poor experience. 2nd Visit: Out of desperation, I needed to have my MBP screen replaced by Mac Made Easy. As they allow you to take your laptop home after diagnostics (essential work on laptop). Since communication is non-existent with this business, the timing of me bringing my laptop in before they need to send the Apple part back was always inconvenient.
Thus not being able to get my laptop fixed, which took over 1 month for me to finally give up on this business. Things to consider before going here. 1) Many of the repairs can be located on YouTube and Tikotok 2) If the part must be replaced by a Apple certified tech, take it to an Apple store. 3) Expecting SOME level of communication and updates via SMS, email or chat bot, go to Apple. 4) Don't want to be kept in the dark.go to Apple. 5) If your 3k-5k device is collecting dust while they wait for parts.go to Apple. 6) Would like to enjoy life.go to Apple.

I get now why this business has nearly 100 1-STAR ratings. LESSON LEARNED the hard way. If you like being frustrated with poor-to-nonexistent communication. this is the place for you! If you like being given the run around with strange policies & ass backwards procedures. this is the place for you! If you don't really need your device fixed & don't want to have it back in your possession. this is the place for you! If you LOVE having to hound for updates and explain your repair situation to a new employee each time- this is the place for you! If NOT. go to apple.

My Mac had become painfully slow. My IT consultant said the hard drive appeared to be failing. I took my Mac to the Mac Made Easy Kailua store and experienced complete satisfaction. Easy parking, neat and attractive store appearance, simple check in, and good communication throughout the process. Now my Mac flies like the wind!

I lost the use of my desktop on my Mac computer and couldn't figure out what I did to get this to happen. Went to Kailua Mac Made Easy because they have always taken care of the problems I had with my computer. They were so patient and so very helpful. While on vacation, my iPhone 11 got wet and stopped working. I was going to have to get on a plane for a nine hour flight with no working phone and was freaking out. I called MME and though they had no appointments available, they said to go ahead and come in and they would take a look. I went in the next day. As promised, they took a look and diagnosed the issue. Thankfully the phone turned on again once dry, without more extensive repairs necessary, but they gave me some advice in case the phone died again later.
And then, though I offered several times, they insisted that they didn't need payment. They were so generous with their time and so helpful. Clearly knowledgeable. Would, without any hesitation, recommend them for any help needed with your Apple products.

As always the Mac Store was fully booked so decided to check out this store for a battery replacement on my old but still useful iPhone 6 which is unlocked so I can put a local SIM in when out of the country. Note of your using Apple Maps for the location it still uses the old address on Hekili St. use the one in Yelp. Anyway arrived at the store to check in and find out they need to keep the phone, at that point they wanted the password removed, I wasn't happy leaving it like that with the sensitive data stored on your phone these day's so decided to do a factory reset in which all the data would be erased (make sure it's backed up before doing this obviously). Doing this I thought was simply protecting myself from any one snooping around on it which for some reason seemed to upset the person I was working with at the store, like I cared! Anyway got the phone back about 10 days later, probably should have just gotten it done at the Apple Store.

Apple had made an appointment at Mac Made Easy to repair my husband's iPhone. We needed to reschedule so I called Mac Made Easy. A female answered "Hello". I had to ask if it was Mac Made Easy. I really want to support local, small businesses. But they need to be professional. I had a bad experience at this business 5 years ago and wanted to try them again. If they can't properly answer the phone, I don't think they can be trusted to repair electronics.

AT&T in Kaneohe sold me a defective phone. My phone wouldn't turn on. I took it To the AT&T less than two months after I bought it, AT&T was so rude and offered NO help. HORRIBLE customer service. It was 2 days before Christmas and my phone was not working and my family was having health issues. I needed a working home. I took it to Mac Made Easy and they were SO helpful and kind. Micah ( I think that is his name) saw I was upset and he did was so nice and helpful.
They sent my defective IPhone in under the warranty and set me up with a loaner phone. Just a few days later they had a brand new phone ready for me. Thanks you for your kindness and making sure I had a working phone for the holidays.

Literally the WORST store. Just go straight to apple. I took my laptop that had water damaged and just wanted them to transfer my files onto a drive. They told me about a week or less. Keep in mind I didn't have much to transfer over (less than 1 TB). They charged me over $100 for the 1 TB drive and told me that was probably the best price I was going to get it for.
After dropping off my laptop and buying the 1 TB drive at Mac Made "easy" I went to Costco a few days later and found a 8 TB for $129 of the same brand! Not only did they rip me off but I waited over a week to hear any news on my laptop. Keep in mind I am a full time online college student due to COVID and go to The University of Alabama. So having a laptop and my assignments is extremely important.
They assured me it wouldn't take more than a week since it was only 1 tb and I was only doing a data transfer. After a week of nothing I called to check in and the lady at the front desk had an terrible attitude with me and told me that it would be at least another week until I get it because they hadn't even started on it. While on the phone she also told me that 2 other people were apparently ahead of me (wonder how long they had been waiting too).
She then tells me she will email a technician and see if anyone can help move it along sooner than another week. So says she will call me back later and hangs up. I waited all day to hear back, just for her to call me after store hours and won't answer when I called back 30 seconds later. Next day I called to check in again because I was going to cancel it all and get a hell of a lot of money back.
Just magically of course they had began doing the transfer. After treating me like I was bothering them and I wasn't their priority at all. I was paying for their help and service and yet I felt like I was not important and the lady in front had a terrible attitude. Save your money and go else where. The staff is rude, they are slow, complete rip off, and they don't care about you at all. Literally so disappointed. Wanted to support a local business especially during COVID but I for sure will NEVER be going back to this place.

When you have as much Apple & Mac equipment as me and something goes wrong, do you take it in to the Apple Store? Independant repair shop? Not a chance. You search for a certified repair station or you send it off to the mainland for repairs. I recently began having issues with my system and I didn't know where to turn. now this is not your average home system, I have a MacBook Pro and two very large OWC Thunderbay External Hard Drives with my life's work contained in them.
One is a 12Tb and the other is a 36Tb., massive drives! I had to lug them all down to Mac Made Easy in a rolling suitcase, one that would never pass being stowed in an overhead compartment on a plane! They are located in Kailua, a bit off the beaten path for me, but I'd drive a hundred miles for their expertise! After checking my equipment in (even they were surprised at the size of those hard drives), I was told that due to workloads, it would be about the middle of the following week before I'd likely get them back.
I was in no rush, I just wanted to know they were in good hands and would get repaired. To my surprise, it was one week and a couple days when they called me. Great estimated time line! They were able to resolve my issues and also, unknown to me, my battery was faulty. They checked for me and it was still within the time limit for Apple to replace my battery for free.
All I can say is, I'm very relieved and it's like a huge weight was taken off of my shoulders! Also, very reasonable rates. I was pleasantly surprised that didn't owe any balance other than the service fee I paid when I brought it in. If you have photos, important info, etc. stored on your computer, take it from me and back up your info.
It can be a small portable SSD drive or cloud backup, or full blown external drive set up like me. When your computer fails, you can sleep knowing that your data is safe! Thank you Mac Made Easy! Five Tech Stars * * * * *

My mac book was on its last legs. With the quarantine the Ala Moana Apple store was closed. I showed up at Mac Made Easy at 9 am with no appointment, although I had emailed them as they suggested. They were so helpful and honest- I selected the computer I wanted and then left everything to them - they loaded all my files to the new computer and then helped me update my Microsoft office - no problem - Extremely knowledgeable! I came back at noon and everything was ready to go. I highly recommend this computer shop.

I called on a Sunday to see if they were open, which they weren't. I got the voicemail and it said to email to get a faster answer. I emailed and received a response within a few minutes. Sean was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was probably his day off, but helped me and emailed me back and forth several times answering my questions. I just left their store with everything I needed.
I also needed a dongle and Sean recommended the cheaper one not just trying to sell me the most expensive one. Those small things mean a lot to me as a customer. They're looking out for the customer. We don't have an Apple store on Maui, but this level of service rivals Apple. I highly recommend giving them your business.
